About The Position

As a Regional Change Consultant on the Change Leadership Team, you'll be responsible for leading the delivery and implementation efforts of Change Management strategies across key markets to drive awareness and adoption of strategic priorities and initiatives for our Frontline Leaders and Employees. In this role, you'll bring experience in business transformation and apply the Southwest Airlines Change Leadership methodology to develop and deliver strategies such as a vision and case for change, stakeholder alignment, communication, and business and change impact assessment. This role may work both independently and under the general direction of a more experienced Change Leadership practitioner. The Change Consultant will assess readiness for change, tailor engagement to build stakeholder commitment, and partner across departments to strengthen project Team health and ensure successful Business and Technology-driven change. Additional Details This role is offered as a regional workplace position, which will require travel for trainings, meetings, conferences, etc., to our various stations. Outside of those required visits, your working time may be spent in an approved remote location within the Chicago, Illinois (MDW) or Baltimore, Maryland (BWI) area. U.S. citizenship or current authorization to work in the U.S. required and no current or future work authorization sponsorship available. Requirements

  • Required: High School Diploma or GED
  • Advanced-level experience, seasoned, and specialized knowledge in: Project Management, including all phases Strategy Design Initiative/Program Development Consulting Change Leadership Related professional area
  • Knowledge of Change Leadership principles and methods of communication and training
  • Skilled in collecting, organizing, visualizing, and assimilating data, including turning raw data into meaningful information
  • Skilled in applying knowledge of human behavior and performance; individual differences in ability, personality, and interests; and learning and motivation
  • Skilled in driving problem solving and employing critical/strategic thinking skills to identify issues, question assumptions, develop comprehensive solutions/recommendations and escalate for resolution if needed
  • Skilled in written and verbal communications, including developing strong, visually appealing presentations (using Microsoft PowerPoint) that use story-telling principles and delivering and presenting in meetings with impact
  • Skilled in project management principles (i.e., vision, risk management, project planning, work breakdown structure, implementation planning, communications, and change management)
  • Ability to demonstrate intellectual curiosity, strategic thinking, and challenge assumptions in a constructive way; pursues innovative and comprehensive solutions
  • Ability to handle complex, confidential, and sensitive situations appropriately and maintain objectivity
  • Ability to build strong, trusting relationships with Team Members, key Stakeholders, Regional, and Station Leadership Teams
  • Ability to perform work duties from limited space work station/desk/office area for extended periods of time
  • Ability to traverse from one location to another
  • Ability to move/transport 25 lbs on an occasional basis (under 50%)
  • Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job
  • Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job
  • Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines
  • Air travel with frequent overnight stays required (approximately 75% travel)

Responsibilities

  • Apply the Southwest Airlines Change Leadership methodology and work effectively with the Team to develop and implement plans including, but not limited to the following: vision and case for change, Leadership and Stakeholder alignment, communication, business/change impacts, and/or organizational changes.
  • Design, develop, and implement Employee listening solutions to drive greater insights with our Frontline Employees, including surveys, focus groups, and workshops that drive, awareness, understanding and adoption.
  • Support the project/program Change Lead, when required, in managing the Change Leadership strategy, timeline, and deliverables for high complexity projects or initiatives as it relates to Station/Region specific needs.
  • Conduct business impact and risk assessments to determine people, process, and technology impacts at the company, department, and job-specific levels and determines the best approach for addressing impacts and risks at the Station level.
  • Develop, deliver, facilitate, and/or participate in various meetings, workshops, and developmental opportunities
  • Develop and deliver presentations and other change collateral for all levels of the organization
  • Develop and execute coordinated, comprehensive change and communication plans (including ample opportunities for two-way dialogue) to improve stakeholder readiness and adoption
  • Develop and implement strategies and plans for aligning Leaders and all levels of Stakeholders to project goals and objectives
  • Develop capabilities, programs, projects, processes, and materials in support of Change initiatives to foster the adoption process from awareness to ownership.
  • Serve as a change advocate and oversee station implementation of key enterprise-wide initiatives
  • May perform other job duties as directed by Employee's Leaders
