The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai affiliated with New York City Health + Hospitals/Elmhurst and New York City Health + Hospitals/Queens has an exciting opportunity for a Regional Chairperson of Pathology. Our Pathology Department offers a full spectrum of services including Regional Anatomic Pathology including all subspecialties of Surgical Pathology, Cytopathology and Autopsy Pathology, extensive Inhouse Immunohistochemistry and In Situ Hybridization, and outside referrals for Molecular Pathology, serving the Cancer Centers at Elmhurst and Queens Hospitals. Each hospital has its own Clinical Pathology Laboratory, including Blood Bank, Chemistry and Hematology, with modern state of the art instrumentation. Elmhurst also counts with a fully equipped UpToDate PCR, Mass Spectrometry and culture-based Microbiology Laboratory. The Pathology Department is staffed by 10 pathologists with diverse subspecialty expertise, active in daily sign out, intradepartmental daily multiheaded microscope conference, medical student teaching and various weekly multidisciplinary Tumor Boards, such as thoracic, breast and general surgery conferences. The hospital is easily accessible by public transportation and car from all areas of New York City, New Jersey and Long Island.
