Job Summary: The Regional Account Manager for ArborVista is responsible for driving business development, managing key client relationships, and supporting the successful delivery of arborist services for ArborVista across their assigned territory. This role is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building strong client relationships, and developing strategic partnerships within utility, municipal, cooperative, and environmental sectors. The ideal candidate will have experience in the vegetation management and forestry industry, specifically in the areas of pre-inspection, work planning, and auditing (QA/QC). This candidate should also have an understand regulatory requirements and a strong network of industry contacts. This position requires strong communication, analytical, and relationship-building skills, along with the ability to collaborate across Business Development, Sales, and Operations teams.

Requirements

  • Valid Driver’s License with clean DMV record, per ArborVista insurance requirements
  • 5+ years of business development or sales experience, in vegetation management, utility services, or environmental services.
  • Knowledge and field experience of consulting arborist services, forestry, and related field operations
  • Strong understanding of competitive landscape across ArborVista territory and the vegetation management industry
  • Attention to detail and capable of maintaining a high quality of work product
  • Proficient with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, PipeDrive).
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Ability to read and interpret maps and specifications
  • General knowledge of negotiated bids, T&M bids, fixed price bids, unit price bids, etc.
  • Strong knowledge of utility industry practices, vegetation clearance regulations, and environmental compliance standards (e.g., NERC, FERC, OSHA).
  • Proven track record of securing new business and exceeding sales targets.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents, contracts, and bid specs.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Demonstrates behaviors consistent with ArborVista Core Values
  • Knowledge of tree inventory software
  • Ability to travel regularly
  • ISA Certified Arborist (Required)

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Environmental Science, Forestry, or related field.
  • Existing network of utility or municipal contacts.
  • Understanding of GIS and mapping technologies used in vegetation planning.
  • Familiarity with integrated vegetation management (IVM) strategies.
  • Certified Tree Safety Professional (Recommended)
  • Tree Risk Assessment Qualification (TRAQ) Certification (Recommended)

Responsibilities

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in utility vegetation management, forestry, environmental restoration, and related services.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with utility companies, DOTs, cooperatives, municipalities, and other key clients.
  • Conduct strategic outreach to prospective clients through calls, emails, and in-person meetings
  • Collaborate with operations, estimating, and compliance teams to develop proposals, bids, and pricing strategies.
  • Attend industry events, trade shows, and conferences to network and promote the company’s capabilities.
  • Monitor market trends, customer needs, and competitor activity to inform strategy and identify opportunities.
  • Maintain an accurate and up-to-date pipeline of opportunities in CRM software.
  • Ensure post-sale handoff to operations is smooth, with clear communication of customer expectations and scope.
  • Review RFP documents such as specifications, maps and contract details to identify risks and opportunities to qualify leads.
  • Completes job walks on bid opportunities and determines proper resources, production and equipment to successfully build out cost models.
  • Communicates with customers to clarify scope of work, materials, and schedule requirements, and documents these clarifications.
  • Actively participates in the internal estimate review process.
  • Assists with final assembly of estimate for presentation to Management.
  • Collects and organizes all bid information for future reference.
  • Aids field operations with change order pricing if needed.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with internal ArborVista clients.
  • Other duties as assigned
