About The Position

This is advanced professional work supervising and directing employees. The primary duty of the incumbent in this position is to spend the majority of their time communicating with, motivating, training and evaluating employees, planning and directing their work; and having the authority to effectively recommend actions such as: hire, transfer, suspend, layoff, promote, discharge, assign, and reward or discipline direct reports. Evaluates employees against established standards and takes appropriate actions when necessary (i.e. recognition, reward, corrective action, etc.). Formulating administrative policies and procedures within an eight county SubCircuit area to ensure organizational achievement and compliance with departmental and region mandates. Establishing and achieving programmatic and managerial goals and objectives for the SubCircuit. Planning for the development and delivery of services to clients within the SubCircuit in accordance with departmental goals relating to services to clients and promoting client independence Developing and implementing corrective action plans for all management and programmatic areas that are out of compliance with standards. Developing and maintaining effective working relationships with a broad array of positions, organizations, and groups with an interest, relationship, and/or involvement in departmental activities and affairs. This includes working with contracted providers, local judges, school systems staff, law enforcement, Department of Children and Families’ staff, legislators and local elected officials. Measuring program performance against the appropriate standards in concert with the Circuit Program offices. Maintaining an ongoing management review process for the SubCircuit and assessing the performance of all Department of Children and Families’ staff and contract agencies to assure optimal field performance. Resolving client complaints directly or in cooperation with SubCircuit staff and the Circuit Client Relations office.
