About The Position

Reporting to the Director of Refugee Services, the Refugee Health Promotion (RHP) Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the Refugee Health Promotion program and supervises the RHP Case Managers. This position combines program management, staff supervision, and strategic partnership development to ensure refugee families successfully access and navigate healthcare services in Nebraska. The RHP Supervisor manages a team of case managers while monitoring program compliance with grant requirements and organizational standards. The ideal candidate for this position will bring strong supervisory skills, knowledge of healthcare systems, and the ability to monitor program compliance while supporting both staff and client needs.

Requirements

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in public administration, social sciences, or related field preferred; High School diploma or GED required
  • Fluency in English (written and verbal) required; Fluency in other languages commonly spoken by client populations preferred
  • Proficiency in Office 365 applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint) and ability to learn case management databases
  • Strong supervision skills with ability to set positive tone for team success
  • Knowledge of health issues impacting refugees preferred
  • Working knowledge of U.S. healthcare systems preferred
  • Experience monitoring, evaluating, and managing staff performance
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong interpersonal abilities to build professional relationships
  • Ability to adapt quickly to new tools and processes in a fast-paced environment
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record required
  • Ability to take initiative, think strategically, and exercise good judgment
  • Creative problem-solving skills and ability to make decisions when necessary
  • Self-motivated with ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Experience working with immigrant, refugee, or trauma-affected individuals and families preferred
  • Ability to pass all required background checks
  • Must be at least 18 years old and authorized to work in the United States

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Director of Refugee Services in building out the RHP program for refugee clients resettled in the past 5 years
  • Research and stay informed on trends for health-related issues impacting refugee communities
  • Oversee and supervise RHP Case Managers
  • Contribute to training of RHP Case Managers and other staff
  • Assign work to Case Managers and monitor workload distribution
  • Approve Case Managers' time off, timesheets, and mileage sheets
  • Monitor Case Managers' performance and prepare performance reports
  • Inform Director of any unresolved performance issues with Case Managers
  • Monitor client services for quality and consistency
  • Communicate programmatic issues to Director and suggest improvements
  • Monitor and prepare task completion reports and data reports
  • Fill Case Manager role in the absence of Case Manager, or as needed
  • Cultivate and maintain strong working relationships with healthcare organizations and other refugee-serving organizations
  • Receive and resolve any escalated staff or client complaints, elevating to Director as needed
  • Keep Director informed about Omaha and Lincoln's current refugee health trends and issues that may impact successful integration of refugees
  • Other duties as assigned
