Refugee Resettlement assists in helping create a home-away-from-home, we assist government-approved refugees in becoming self-sufficient through cultural orientation, job development, family reunification and resettlement. The Refugee Education Liaison is responsible for building and maintain partnerships with local school districts and community organizations as well as providing in-school and/or after school academic help to refugee students who have been identified by the school as having need. The Refugee Education Liaison will supplement the instruction students receive in class, help student’s complete homework, and guide students toward study practices that will encourage long-term success. The Refugee Education Liaison will also assist the Education Coordinator in delivering school orientations for newly arrived families, encouraging family engagement, performing outreach to local stakeholders, and other key components of the School Impact Grant. The successful candidate will have a passion for working with refugee students, engaging community partners, and show academic competence in core subject areas. This position requires extensive travel between multiple school districts, community centers, and homes within the service area.
