About The Position

The Refueling Supervisor will be responsible for the successful execution of refueling outage activities and Used Fuel Loading Outages to include supervision and performance management of craft Reactor Services Technicians. This position will report to the Refueling Manager and hard line to Corporate with dotted line alignment to Site Work Management. This role is extremely critical in providing craft leadership and guidance resulting in shortened outage durations, significant cost savings, and implementation of fleet standardization. Oversight of refueling activities includes but is not limited to the following: Note: Lifting and Rigging activities require an Advanced or Master Rigger and direction will be provided by the Task / Lift Director. Maintain oversight to ensure adherence to standards. Reactor Vessel Disassembly / Reassembly (General Refuel Floor Activities Oversight) Fuel Movement Fuel Inspections Spent Fuel Pool Management (Cross-functional with Reactor Engineering who is the custodian of the nuclear fuel and Operations who is the licensed owner of the nuclear fuel) Spent Fuel Pool Re-racks Spent Fuel Pool Legacy Clean-up Refueling tools and plant equipment readiness Dry Cask Storage Continuous improvement (including life cycle strategies, equipment upgrades, process changes, etc.)

Requirements

  • 5 years of commercial nuclear plant experience required
  • Technical and Project Management background in Nuclear Power preferred
  • Previous experience supervising craft personnel in a commercial plant preferred

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for execution and craft oversight for Refueling Services   (50%)
  • Serves as an experienced and knowledgeable Refueling and Dry Storage Supervisor
  • Keeps Refueling Manager and Dry Storage Project Manager apprised of emerging issues and path to resolution
  • Ensures that the highest standards and behaviors are being utilized
  • Serve on Refueling High Impact Teams (HIT Teams) when applicable
  • Manage Equipment Reliability for functional area equipment and tooling. Leverage cross-functional organization
  • Monitoring of outage performance
  • Manages resource needs in response to site operational needs  (15%)
  • Serves as an experienced leader with knowledge of company and industry experts available to resolve issues at the sites
  • Leverage fleet peers and organizational resources to assist in issue resolution
  • Provides technical challenge of nuclear safety, ensure personnel safety and promptly respond to operational needs
  • Communication to key stakeholders in the corporation   (10%)
  • Effectively communicate technical, financial, and work progress status to all levels of corporate and site management
  • Provide communication with site management and fleet peers
  • Reactor Services - Refueling functional area Perform functions (GOSP)  (15%)
  • Ensure standardization of processes is based on industry best practices obtained through benchmarking.
  • Conducts program self-assessments, observations, and evaluates plant activities
  • Influences and facilitates positive outcomes with the relative stakeholder peer teams (Operations, Maintenance, Work Management), as well as other internal and external working groups.
  • Serves as subject matter expert, mentoring for knowledge transfer, formulating and facilitating the development of standards and procedures for functional practices for the SNC fleet.
  • Maintain and execute Refueling Life Cycle Plan
  • Support site improvement issue assignments     (10%)
  • Participate in sister site assessments
  • Support IRT assignments for applicable functional area issues
  • Review relative operational experience and take appropriate action to minimize impact to SNC
