About The Position

This position is responsible for all refrigeration equipment repair or replacement. The Refrigeration Maintenance crew has had all the necessary training to work on refrigeration equipment and handles any work orders for the ammonia compressors, freezers, cooling units, etc. Any refrigeration equipment that breaks down during processing is repaired or replaced. This position also includes making rounds and documenting system conditions (i.e. temperatures, pressure, inspections, etc.) and notifying the appropriate person if conditions are not within tolerance ranges. Preventive maintenance is also performed on refrigeration equipment. You will be working in cold storage areas with temperatures of minus 35 degrees. You must be able to read and understand pressure gauges and instrument panels. You will be using volt meter and check continuity. You will be using ladders and roof work. You will lift up to 50 pounds. You will furnish own tools (basic tool list). You will be required to walk, stoop, bend and stand up to 8 hours. You will be working with respirator breathing devices. You will follow all written PM program instructions. You will be required to work weekends and overtime as instructed by Supervisor. Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Requirements

  • 6 months of maintenance/mechanical experience in manufacturing environment.
  • Must be mechanically inclined with refrigeration experience.
  • Must have some electrical experience.
  • Must have some welding experience.
  • Must be able to pass a Respirator physical within one week unless New Hire 90 days and test Level 3 or higher
  • All applicants must provide their government identification number for the purpose of checking previous employment.

Responsibilities
