SUMMARY: Maintenance Lead performs all the functions of a refrigeration supervisor for a team of 10 to 12 hourly technicians EXCEPT anything to do with pay payroll clocking reports promotion or demotion attendance or and disciplinary activities. This is a development position to prepare an hourly TEAM member with the skills and experience to advance to a refrigeration supervisor position. DUTIES: Perform duties in accordance to Tyson safety programs to ensure a safe and accident-free work environment. Encourage and promote safe work practices to all team members through We Care-safety huddles hazard recognition and one-on-one safety contacts. Able to perform all technical troubleshooting maintenance and repair functions of a Maintenance Technician or Engine Room Technician depending on prior craft experience and background Mechanical-Electrical Technician and Automation Technician. Hands-on trainer of other technicians and works with supervisor to complete Plant Floor Demonstrated Skills evaluation and documentation for technicians as part of ongoing Skills Training effort. Provides plant floor tactical direction for 10 to 12 hourly technicians to ensure daily scheduled work is completed and documented correctly. Meets daily with supervisor and maintenance planner to review proposed work order schedule and provide feedback to ensure proper assignment and prioritization based on plant need and team member skills. With direction from Refrigeration Manager Supervisor coordinates the activities of workers engaged in maintaining and repairing Ammonia Refrigeration Compressed air water and steam systems and electrical components Runs SAP-PM Daily maintenance reports for schedule completion time confirmation breakdowns and material multiple times per shift. Evaluates the reports to ensure timely completion and accurate documentation of work downtime and material use. Re-prioritizes current day work schedule based on conditions and activities on plant floor. Is able to provide feedback to technicians on proper data entry and documentation of work in the SAP-PM system. Attends daily maintenance meeting and reports why scheduled work wasn t completed breakdowns that occurred and the short and long-term corrective actions taken or needed to prevent recurrence. Provides feedback on major maintenance or project work relating to equipment and facilities that needs to be planned and scheduled in the future. Works with refrigeration supervisor to perform Maintenance Evaluations and Root Cause Problem Elimination to prevent recurrence of equipment downtime. With direction from Refrigeration supervisor coordinates the activities of workers engaged in maintaining and repairing Ammonia Refrigeration Compressed air water and steam systems and electrical components. Acts as supervisor for entire crew when maintenance supervisor is absent. Work with PSM coordinator to insure team members and facility are compliant with all aspects of the PSM program.
