About The Position

The Tyson Foods, Inc. Discovery Center is currently seeking a full-time Maintenance Technician to work on our 1st shift. Primary responsibilities will be taking care of the Refrigeration Operations and other freezers and coolers. This is a 5 day a week position with occasional weekends. Current days are Monday through Friday 7AM to 3:30 PM. The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodations.

Requirements

Able to lift 70 pounds
Strong electrical and mechanical experience
Great oral and written communication skills
Must have basic computer skills
5 years experience in a maintenance mechanic position
Experience with Electrical, Mechanical, Pneumatic, Welding, Motors and PLC's

Nice To Haves

Technical training certifications preferred
Great sense of urgency
Food industry experience preferred
Basic knowledge of PLC's preferred

Responsibilities

Taking care of the Refrigeration Operations and other freezers and coolers
Working with others in your department and outside vendors
Assisting in the physical plant, equipment, building and grounds assuring they are maintained in a clean, neat and safe operating manner and are operating at peak efficiency
Assisting with troubleshooting and repairing equipment
Responding immediately to emergency situations
Finding solutions to difficult technical problems
Trouble shoot components such as check valves, control valves, cylinders, pumps, filters etc.
Maintaining knowledge of USDA & FDA’s Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s)
Being familiar with all aspects of Safety like LOTO, Confined Spaces, Fall Protection, etc.
Willing to work occasional weekends or other shifts if needed
Willing to obtain an Arkansas State steam boiler license
