About The Position

PURPOSE: The ReFrame Advancement Director will give leadership to ReFrame Ministries’ donor relations and communications teams by providing vision, strategic direction, and initiatives to advance the mission of the ministry. This position will be compensated at an annual salary of $105,833 USD or $106,471/year CAD. The CRCNA exhibits love for the diversity of the human family. Requirements

  • Professing membership in a Christian Reformed congregation, or of a church in communion with the CRCNA, and agreement with the doctrine of the church signified by signing a covenant statement.
  • Demonstrated skills in casting vision for the mission and thinking strategically.
  • Proven abilities in fundraising, including digital advancement and church fundraising strategies, cultivating relationships with major donors, and marketing.
  • Familiarity with US and Canadian planned giving and legacy opportunities and practices.
  • Ability to manage budgets and use financial reports for decision-making.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage conflict and the dynamics of difference and diversity.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading, coaching, motivating, and encouraging others.
  • Demonstrated commitment to racial reconciliation and social justice issues.
  • Experience in managing staff, including performance management.
  • Demonstrated intermediate proficiency in commonly used computer applications.
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in a related field such as business, marketing & communications, or non-profit management, and/or equivalent work experience.
  • Extensive experience in fundraising and building relationships with major donors through face-to-face contact, with a demonstrated track record in all areas of development
  • Advanced experience in leadership and/or managerial oversight
  • The ability to have a weekly presence in the CRCNA denominational offices in Burlington, Ontario, Canada, or Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA.
  • The ability to travel within North America and internationally.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement team mission, vision, plans, and priorities; prescribe needed processes, and report results.
  • Manage key relationships with a portfolio of existing and potential major donors, working with the organization’s Director to manage high-level donors.
  • Establish overall agency fundraising goals with the director and establish annual individual plans with assigned staff.
  • Monitor individual and team goals to ensure successful completion of annual plans, evaluate staff performance, and resolve performance issues as they arise.
  • Provide supervision, coaching, feedback, support, and guidance to assigned staff.
  • Provide expertise in areas of direct mail, online giving and digital marketing, planned giving, branding, communications, and other donor initiatives, as appropriate.
  • Develop and oversee the budget for the Advancement department; ensure spending is within budget and recommend modifications as appropriate.
  • Serve as liaison to development organizations with whom the ministry maintains relationships, including Barnabas Foundation and Christian Stewardship Services.
  • Develop, maintain, and strengthen partnerships with others internal and external to the organization, including integrating with international ministry leaders.
  • Significant travel within assigned regions for in-person visits, relationship building, donor appreciation, and fundraising events, including occasional international travel to meet with ministry partners.
