About The Position

Nevada Gold Mines is looking for a Refinery Technician to join the Goldstrike
Process team.

The Refinery Technician is responsible for the recovery of gold from a pregnant
solution into a gold bearing sludge, removing contaminants from the sludge, and
producing gold dore bars. They will ensure safe and efficient operation of
various processing circuits/equipment including but not limited to:
electrowinning, retort furnaces, induction furnaces, off gas/gas handling,
reagent handling and addition, solution balance, sample collection, data
recording, retrieval of sample data, proper handling of potentially hazardous
chemicals, monitoring/controlling water flows, pumps, valves, piping and other
equipment, making calculations and adjustments as needed to maintain operating
parameters within limits.

Requirements

• 5+ years of process operations experience preferred
• Familiarity with PI and DeltaV
• Understanding of computer applications such as Excel and MINEMAN.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Responsibilities

• Maintain housekeeping and circuit cleanliness to ensure safe operation.
• Communicate daily with the elutions operators in movement of pregnant and barren solution.
• Operate production machinery and equipment such as overhead cranes, valves, and pumps.
• Operate the following: electrowinning cells, mercury retort furnaces, smelting furnaces, baghouses, carbon beds.
• Operate a forklift.
• Prepare gold bullion for shipment.
• Identify preventative maintenance needs to prevent loss to personnel, property, and process by observing machinery and equipment. Report any mechanical, electrical or instrumentation repairs as needed.
• Collect samples for metallurgical accounting and process control.
• Operate a computer and related software for record keeping and circuit control.
• Comply with state and federal safety and health regulations, company policies and procedures and the company's environmental compliance policy.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
