About The Position

LabCorp is currently seeking a Hospital Test Reference Clerk (HTRC) to work onsite at a hospital client account. In this role you will provide exceptional customer service, perform skilled specimen processing and be the face of our company. In addition, you will be provided opportunities for continuous growth within the organization. A Hospital Reference Test Clerk will receive specimens, accession, and process, per LabCorp specimen handling protocol. The HTRC will be a client’s resource for information regarding test codes and specimen types. The HTRC will reconcile data to ensure that resulting is occurring in a timely manner and perform quality checks to ensure that proper specimen processing and handling. The HRTC will also maintain adequate supply stock to perform their duties. Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 9:00am-5:30pm, rotating weekends and holiday Work Location: Knoxville, TN

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Comfortability with handling biological specimens
  • Ability to accurately identify specimens
  • Basic computer and data entry skills
  • Strong communication skills; written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently or within a team environment
  • Well organized and a high level of attention to detail
  • Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time
  • Must pass a standardized color blindness test

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a laboratory environment is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Prepare laboratory specimens for various analysis and testing
  • Research, troubleshoot and resolve customer and specimen problems
  • Send test requests to proper location and release test results
  • Assist clients with any specimen related requests or inquires
  • Process specimens to be sent out to additional facilities
  • Provide support to various areas of the laboratory
  • Perform sample sorting, racking and retrieving
  • Prepare record logs in a timely and efficient manner
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
