Responsible for public reference services, information literacy instruction and orientations, and collection development. A. Provides one-on-one reference services in-person at the reference desk, by appointment, via chat services, by phone, and by email to students, faculty, staff and residents of District 520. Assists with background research and literature review work for campus committees or other college initiatives. B. Develops and presents information literacy and research skill instruction to classes. Collaborates with faculty to create instruction sessions tailored to student needs within the course. Leads library tours, assignments, and instruction for the First Year Experience program. Develops and presents workshops on information literacy skills for students, staff, and faculty. C. Creates and maintains online instructional materials, such as LibGuides, tutorials, and videos in support of library student learning goals and in collaboration with faculty to address specific assignments or information literacy skills. Ensures instructional materials meet accessibility, universal design, and equity, diversity and inclusion best practice guidelines. D. Participates in library collection development activities for books, serials, reference, media, electronic, and other material formats in collaboration with the director, faculty, and staff. E. Creates and distributes advertising materials for programming, instruction, and library resources. Assists with marketing and awareness of services and events by writing informational articles and emails and designing flyers and digital advertisements. Maintains the library's social media presence and assists with the library's presence on the KCC webpage, in the internal portal, and in the learning management system. Fosters student engagement and promotion of library services and materials through the development of passive programming and displays in the library. F. Collaborates with KCC faculty and staff, including service on campus-wide committees and attendance at division meetings. G. Maintains appropriate records and reports on library resources, programs, and service utilization and effectiveness, including conducting regular surveys and gathering usage statistics. Conducts assessment of reference, library instruction, and outreach efforts. H. Maintains current on research and technologies; networks with other libraries and professional organizations such as NILRC, KALA and CARLI. I. Assists with all library functions and services and serves as back up staff in the areas of acquisitions, serials management, circulation, reserves, cataloging, material review, library statistics, physical space arrangement, web services, interlibrary loan; conforms to institutional policies and procedures, and assists in development/revision of library policies, procedures, mission, and goals.
