Requirements

  • Post high school coursework or training in social/behavioral sciences, counseling, business, public administration, education, marketing or a related field; or experience in client development and case management including interviewing, research and direct customer service.
  • Must have a valid driver's license or the ability to provide independent authorized transportation.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, behavioral science, business administration, communication, education, marketing or related field.
  • Experience in case management.
  • Bilingual language (i.e. Spanish, Vietnamese, Arabic, etc.) desired.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and promote Career Center services and coordinate partner activities.
  • Provide preparation and vocational guidance to applicants; assist employers in filling vacant positions.
  • Coordinate services with local community development entities to promote community growth.
  • Utilize various means of technology to provide needed data.
  • Market Career Center services to the community and employers; contact, schedule, and conduct employer visits to explain staff-assisted and self-service service options.
  • Advocate as business liaison to oversee One Stop Center marketing; coordinate visits, offer special products, and market services to area business community.
  • Develop and maintain shared employer database and oversee coordination of marketing efforts among partners; develop OJT and work experience training opportunities for clients; and perform follow up activities.
  • Plan, implement, and present workshops relevant to business and job seeker needs; plan and present presentations at schools, job fairs, etc. and develop informational briefings/presentations to promote workforce development services.
  • Screen applicants for eligibility for partner programs and utilize vocational guidance tools to assist applicants with career services; work closely with partners in coordinating services of mutual clients.
  • Perform case management of clients; research and recommend clients for intensive and various training services including Re-Employment Services, Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC), Rapid Response, Veterans and Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA), Trade Adjustment Act (TAA), which requires in-depth case management and vocational guidance.
  • Perform Employment Services (ES) career services including client registration, eligibility, assessments, and employment statistics information.
  • Conduct presentations and perform outreach activities through membership on various advisory boards, committees, and community organizations.
  • Perform data entry and retrieval activities for various programs as necessary.
  • Perform job search/matching activities for employers and applicants including registration, job referrals and job development.
  • Administer assessment instruments (tests, surveys, etc.) and other planning tools; interpret results and counsel clients.
  • Receive and verify job orders from employers and enter information into various computer programs as needed.
  • Match qualified applicants to job orders.
