About The Position

At the Recuperative Care Program, Preble Street works in partnership with Greater Portland Health and Maine Medical Center in an innovative program that provides medical services and social services to people experiencing homelessness who have been discharged from hospital care, offering a safe, supportive environment in which to recover in a 15-bed, 24-hour trauma-informed care facility. A part-time Client Support Staff position with 3 rd shift schedule is available with Preble Street’s Recuperative Care Program team. These roles support and facilitate the continued recovery of clients receiving medical and behavioral health care through case management services, maintaining a safe environment, ensuring staff coverage in the program, and providing direct services to patients receiving medical care through outreach, crisis intervention, and housing related support. Available Schedule: Friday and Saturday, 10:00pm - 8:00am

Requirements

• related experience in or relevant to providing direct services to people experiencing homelessness, or a comparable combination of education and relevant experience
• positive regard for individuals accessing services for homelessness and poverty
• a commitment to providing low-barrier services
• strong communication, de-escalation, and crisis intervention skills
• familiarity with community resources
• strong organizational skills and the ability to maintain documentation of services
• ability to work with and maintain professional boundaries with diverse populations
• ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
