About The Position

The Part-Time Recruiting Coordinator at SeaWorld San Diego supports the Recruitment team by assisting with candidate communication, interview scheduling, onboarding coordination, and administrative recruiting tasks. This role is crucial for ensuring a smooth and timely hiring process year-round, covering both peak and non-peak seasons. The coordinator will also be responsible for interviewing and onboarding front-line employees for SeaWorld CA and Sesame Place.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree preferred or relevant years of experience
  • Knowledge of human resources functions, including tasks within the employment cycle
  • Strong computer and phone skills
  • General understanding of employment laws related to hiring and selection
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Word, Excel and Outlook, etc.)
  • Active listening — Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times
  • Time management — Ability to manage one's own time and the time of others
  • Writing — Communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of each audience
  • Speaking — Talking to others to clearly and effectively convey information
  • Aptitude to learn employment related software
  • Ability to be onsite at Sea World San Diego M-F 8:30-6 and Saturdays as needed for shifts
  • Strong written/verbal communication skills; able to read, write and speak English
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and use discretion when handling highly sensitive information
  • Diligence regarding details and thoroughness in completing tasks
  • Being honest and ethical
  • Being pleasant with others and displaying a good-natured, collaborative attitude
  • Being open to change, variety and some ambiguity in the workplace
  • Must have 3 days of unrestricted availability between Monday - Friday during the peak season
  • Must be able to work varied schedules, including nights, holidays, & occasional weekends

Nice To Haves

  • Human Resources experience preferred
  • Experience working in the theme park or hospitality industry preferred
  • Experience working in a fast paced, high-growth company preferred

Responsibilities

  • Support the Recruitment team by assisting with candidate communication, interview scheduling, onboarding coordination, and administrative recruiting tasks
  • Help ensure a smooth and timely hiring process year-round during both peak and non-peak seasons
  • Interview and onboard SeaWorld CA and Sesame Place front-line employees
  • Serve as front desk receptionist
  • Create and maintain confidential applicant and employee electronic records
  • Utilize the HR systems/records interface to on-board new hires
  • Work on special projects as assigned
  • Maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of the HR lobby
  • Assist internal and external customers by answering questions and directing them to appropriate HR personnel
  • Complete I-9 verifications and state labor law compliance in accordance with state and federal law
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable company policies and legal guidelines
  • Handle frequent data entry, filing, faxing and other administrative tasks
  • Provide general administrative support to the HR team
