About The Position

Base is America’s next-generation power company, rebuilding the foundation of modern civilization–electricity–by deploying a vast network of distributed batteries. The company is composed of engineers, operators, and creatives focused on solving complex, interdisciplinary challenges. As a Frontline Recruiter at Base, you will be responsible for hiring the operational workforce, including electricians, warehouse associates, drivers, and field employees across various facilities. These roles are crucial for the delivery, installation, and support of Base's technology and products. The ideal candidate is a motivated individual with strong operational experience, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills, rather than a recruiting expert. This in-person role, based in Austin, TX, offers an opportunity to build a mission-critical workforce from the ground up. Please note that as a startup, priorities may shift, and responsibilities may expand or change based on business needs.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of high-volume operations experience
  • Experience operating at an early-stage, high-growth company or in dynamic, operationally complex industries
  • Excellent communicator with a proven ability to build trust and relationships across stakeholders and community partners
  • Hands-on, resourceful, and process-oriented mindset; you thrive in environments where you’re building from scratch

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end hiring for frontline roles, from job posting to offer close
  • Proactively identify and attract top frontline talent through creative sourcing channels, job boards, trade school partnerships, and unconventional methods (e.g., grassroots outreach, community events, or on-the-ground networking)
  • Collaborate closely with hiring managers to define role requirements, ideal candidate attributes, interview processes, and hiring goals
  • Clearly communicate Base’s mission, culture, and career growth opportunities to candidates at all levels
  • Build scalable, repeatable recruiting processes tailored to high-volume, frontline hiring that deliver speed and quality
  • Ensure every candidate, hired or not, leaves with a positive impression of Base
  • Contribute to recruiting playbooks, tools, and metrics to scale Base’s frontline hiring engine
