Recreational Therapist (1.0 FTE/Days)
About The Position
The Recreational Therapist at Franciscan Health provides a balance of therapeutic activities to develop, restore, or improve psychosocial functional abilities. This position utilizes treatment programs such as didactic groups, skill training, health and fitness, experiential groups, insight-oriented groups, leisure education, out-trips to the community, crafts, and workshops, and a variety of recreational activities. Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree Relevant Field of Study
- 1 year Social Services/Therapeutic recreation/Leisure
- Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) - National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) - American Heart Association

Responsibilities
- Recognize and adapt teaching and counseling appropriate to the patients' level of comprehension.
- Document patient care information, and ensure timely and accurate completion of patient care records.
- Prepare and submit reports and charts to the treatment team, for analysis of patient trends.
- Obtain information from medical records, medical staff, family members, and patients to assess patients' capabilities, needs, and interests.
- Implement basic recreational therapeutic skills.
