The Recreation Specialist is responsible for planning, organizing, and leading recreational activities, including sports, fitness classes, and arts and crafts. All activities are developed and coordinated in collaboration with the Client Care Coordinator, Social Service Manager, and/or the Shelter Director. This role involves working directly with a special population and requires sensitivity to their cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. Additionally, the employee will ensure the safety and welfare of all program participants throughout scheduled activities. This position frequently requires a flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours.
