About The Position

The Recreation Worker: Races and Rides supports the Bentonville Parks & Recreation Run Bentonville Race Series, the Bentonville Half Marathon and Square 2 Square events. This part-time, year-round position assists the Recreation Supervisor of Races, Rides and Events with event preparation, packet pickup operations, race-day logistics, and equipment management. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and ready to work behind the scenes to ensure smooth, safe, and professional events for participants. Work Schedule Year-round, averaging 10–15 hours per week (Monday–Friday, typically 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM; schedule is flexible to meet weekly hours). Increased hours during race/ride weeks: Must be available for all packet pickups, half marathon expo and all events.

Requirements

• Race or event experience preferred but not required.
• Strong organization and customer service skills.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Reliable, team-oriented, and flexible in a fast-paced event environment.
• High school Diploma or GED

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee packet pickup logistics for all events.
• Assist with race-day course setup and takedown.
• Manage event inventory. Including packing, transporting, and restocking items.
• Help maintain organized storage of race equipment and supplies.
• Provide general operational support before, during, and after each event as assigned.
• Follow all Bentonville Parks & Recreation safety standards and City policies to ensure a safe and organized race environment.
