About The Position

Shift: This position will be a part-time day shift role working Monday- Friday. Provides therapeutic, recreational and leisure services to patients/clients, including development of individual treatment plans. Provides consultation to physicians and others regarding appropriateness of referral to recreational therapy. Documents patient/ client programs and progress, educates the patient/ client and others regarding recreational therapy programs. Willingly participates in related activities in support of patient/ client care, education and department operations. Acts as a resource or mentor and provides functional guidance to the team. Coordinates staff/patient scheduling, orientation and training. Ensures proper clinical documentation and monitors workload to ensure staff utilization. Requirements

  • Requires certification as a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) or a Certified Activities Director (ADC).
  • Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
  • Requires 1-3 years of relevant experience.
  • Requires strong knowledge of Recreation Therapy Standards of Care.
