The Recreation Therapist Supervisor role is a “working supervisor” position. The role will perform duties associated with that of a Recreation Therapist as detailed below. In addition, the Recreation Therapist Supervisor is a member of the facility supervisory/management team and has primary, first-line responsibility for the direct supervision of the on-shift Recreation Therapy staff at the facility. In general, the Recreation Therapist Supervisor is accountable for the performance of the supervised Recreation Therapy staff in the (a) delivery of patient care as well as (b) compliance with facility polices, processes, and procedures, governmental regulations and licensing requirements related to that care. In addition, the Recreation Therapist Supervisor serves as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team and to support the facility's treatment program and philosophy.
