This job classification has been designated as a safety sensitive job classification in accordance with the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana and Patient Protection Act, 63 O.S., § 427.1 et seq., (OSCN 2019), effective August 29, 2019. This means employees in this job classification can be subject to disciplinary action up to and including termination if they test positive for marijuana components or metabolites, even if they possess a medical marijuana license. Major Responsibilities and Duties: Essential Functions - Promotes, organizes, coordinates, schedules, and supervises various recreation programs and activities including sports leagues, games for children, special tournaments, and events. Ensures contestants play within rules. Supervises and inspects recreation facilities to ensure rules are being followed; stops violent or rambunctious behavior; opens and closes center; inspects center for any maintenance problems and repairs or reports problem to supervisor. Ensures equipment, materials, and supplies are available for scheduled activities; provides set up for activities; checks equipment in and out. Responds to questions from the public regarding recreational activities, programs, and facilities; answers question or refers callers to appropriate agencies for assistance. Performs general office duties including typing, copying, and mailing tasks; keeps bulletin and informational boards current. Maintains statistical records and reports regarding enrollment in programs and activities and facility attendance; collects and accounts for fees received for activities. Other Major Responsibilities: Assists Recreation Coordinators and Supervisors in planning and implementing new programs. Schedules rental of facility; sets up facility for rentals. Keeps score for various sports leagues. Provides assistance with special City events. Performs general janitorial and maintenance duties. Performs other related duties as required.
