Interprets and applies Parks and Recreation Department guidelines and policies to personnel and the general public. Schedules and supervises volunteer staff for Meals on Wheels and the Nutrition Program. Coordinates and recruits volunteer staff with facility activities. Coordinates and recruits community partners for activity support, and educational opportunities Serve as a resource to front desk reception, hospitality, and management. Communicates and coordinates effectively with co-workers and managers on a regular basis. Organizes and manages community involvement, activities as well as creates relationships with current and prospective partnerships for support of the Hoover Senior Center. Creates, assembles, and updates daily, weekly, monthly nutrition forms, meal order forms, and transportation forms. Creates detailed and comprehensive reports on the nutrition, transportation, volunteer hours, weekly meal order counts as well as management of nutrition supplies and orders. Communicates with UWAAA's Nutrition Program Specialist, Volunteer Coordinator, and Nutrition Coordinator for input, updates and maintenance. Submits and maintains all item delivery tickets, attendance sheets, ineligible meal counts, daily and weekly contribution accounting records, aggregate and congregate worksheets. Arranges Class Tran transportation services for senior members needing assistance with completion of forms, change requests or assisting with related issues or complaints. Responds to members and guest questions, requests, and inquiries in a professional and timely manner. Provides effective public relations between the City’s Parks and Recreation Department and other community organizations, including addressing local neighborhood groups and civic and youth organizations to establish and maintain positive community relations. Addresses complaints from the general public and takes appropriate action to ensure customer satisfaction and an expedient resolution of complaints. Provides needed information and demonstrations concerning how to perform certain work tasks to new employees in the same or similar class of positions. Keeps immediate supervisor and designated others fully and accurately informed concerning work progress, including present and potential work problems and suggestions for new or improved ways of addressing such problems. Attends meetings, conferences, workshops, and training sessions and reviews publications and audio-visual materials to become and remain current on principles, practices, and new developments in assigned work areas. Communicates and coordinates regularly with appropriate others to maximize the effectiveness and efficiency of interdepartmental operations and activities. Performs other related duties as directed.
