A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A RECREATION LEADER As a RECREATION LEADER performs and requires some knowledge of recreation youth, teens, and adult programs operations and procedures. The individual oversees some volunteer staff members. Other responsibilities include maintaining facility in neat order, dealing with the general public, and supervising participants in recreation and education activities. Provide information on all programs, registration and regulations. Assist in the planning for year-round recreation, prepare and organize registrations, supplies and special events. Maintain facilities (meeting room, game room, weight room, etc.). Provide list for purchasing equipment and inventory supplies monthly. You are constantly on your toes and ready for any new and unexpected challenges that may arise in the city. You enjoy being helpful and have no problem providing assistance and support to other divisions within the department as needed. The city needs someone like you with skills in operations of youth programming, recreational activities, and you finding genuine enjoyment in what you do!

Requirements

  • Pursuing high school diploma, G.E.D. or equivalency.
  • Experience in the area of track and field.
  • Must have a current valid class "C" driver's license from the Texas Department of Public Safety with a satisfactory driving record
  • Are you someone who prefers hands-on work?
  • Do you have excellent oral and written communication skills?
  • Are you attentive to detail?
  • Do you enjoy working as part of a team?
  • Is dependability one of your strengths?
