About The Position

Recreation Leaders are responsible for assisting in the promotion, organization, preparation, and personal leadership of a variety of indoor and outdoor recreation activities, such as games and sports for all age groups at one or more recreation facilities.

Requirements

Generally requires 0 to 3 years of related experience.
High School diploma is required.
Valid license or certification is required as needed, based on the job or specialty.

Responsibilities

Planning, organizing and conducting a variety of individual and group age specific activities such as adapted sports, fine and gross motor skill tasks arts & crafts, parties/special events, social coffee time, games, among other activities.
Assists with planning, organizing and leading grooming classes, exercise and other rehab related activities.
Assists with specialized activities associated with cognitively impaired individuals.
Plans activities with consideration for the special needs and individual interest including factors such as social behavior, cognitive functioning, and physical disability.
Assists when indicated, with developing and implementing plan of care for individual including quality of care and age specific considerations.
Maintains all work areas in an organized and safe manner.
Responsible for record keeping such as progress reports, and addressing new problems or goals for the plan of care.
Maintains contact with community resources to increase the volunteer program to enhance the quality of life.
Assist in training of new volunteers, and coordination of the volunteer program or activities. Initiate orders for supplies.
Maintains open communication with Recreation team and keeps all parties informed about any relevant information.
Demonstrates behaviors of service excellence and CARE values (Compassion, Accountability, Respect and Expertise). Performs all other related job duties as assigned.
