This is an entry level position within the Recreation Department which reports directly to a supervisor as directed by the Department Head. This position is responsible for the operation of Franklin Sports Complex and assists with special events and other department activities and programs as needed. This position is responsible for various administrative duties, planning, and implementation of programs and activities throughout the city as assigned by the supervisor. Enforce city-wide ordinances, rules, and regulations and act as security for department property. Greets and provides facility/department information to the general public both in person and by telephone. Handles customer issues and concerns regarding parks, facilities and events within their knowledge and ability. Resolves problems that may arise in a proactive and professional manner. Performs facility opening and closing procedures as needed. Provides routine maintenance assistance including litter pick-up in and around facilities, cleaning of restrooms and other light cleaning as needed. Regularly monitors and inspects facilities, indoors and outdoors, to ensure safety of the patrons, activities and the facility. Performs minor repairs as necessary and reports any larger repair or concern as needed. Assists with the implantation of department events, programs and activities as needed including set-up, supervision, breakdown and follow-up. Stays abreast of issues and happenings within the facilities, department and community. Performs other duties as required.
