About The Position

Under the general supervision of a Recreation Specialist or Recreation Leader II, the Recreation Leader I will lead and supervise summer camp / afterschool participants. This is a seasonal position. Must be available to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays and help in other divisions as needed.

Requirements

• Completion of two (2) years of high school or equivalent

Nice To Haves

• One (1) year experience working with children

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the safety and well-being of campers and program participants
• Rotates and moves around to supervise children in a variety of settings including indoor, outdoor with possible exposure to inclement weather conditions
• Implements lesson plans for children ages 5-13 in areas of recreation, adventure, education, and enrichment
• Performs daily tasks to include cleaning, answering phones, and general office related tasks
• Maintains essential records, prepares reports as required; to include but not limited to participation reports, usage reports, accident reports, and work orders
• Follows City policies, procedures, and safety guidelines
• Performs other duties as assigned
