About The Position

The Recreation Lead (Greeley Recreation Center) position is an integral part of the City of Greeley’s Recreation Division and is responsible for the on-site supervision and management of recreation facilities, services, programs, and events. The Recreation Lead (Greeley Recreation Center) will report to the Recreation Coordinator (Operations) and serve as a manager on duty in the absence of full-time professional staff, providing oversight and leadership to hourly staff and volunteers. The Recreation Lead (Greeley Recreation Center) is expected to work under minimal supervision after initial training takes place, exercising sound judgment and effectively serving all areas of the facility and/or program.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Prior customer service experience.
Knowledge of the business and organizational structure of Colorado municipalities.

Nice To Haves

Previous supervisory experience preferred.
Current certification in CPR, First Aid, and AED preferred.
Prior recreation experience preferred.
Knowledge of recreation management software: RecTrac.
Computer skills, including the ability to utilize Microsoft Office programs (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) and learn and experiment with new software and systems.

Responsibilities

Aid in the oversight and delivery of Greeley Recreation programs, services, and special events, supporting and leading other part-time staff and volunteers, especially during evening and weekend hours when full-time staff is not on location.

Explain and enforce facility and/or program rules, policies, and procedures while positively representing the City.
Provide first-rate customer support to members, guests, participants, and the public, resolving immediate concerns as best as possible with the established guidelines and framework of the facility and/or program.

Support full-time professional staff with administrative tasks and projects.
May operate various equipment, depending upon the facility.
Assist facility setups for events, programs, and rentals.
Attend, participate, and help lead staff meetings and trainings.

Evaluate employee performance and goal setting.
Hold employees accountable for assigned tasks and goals.
