About The Position

Chetola Resort is seeking an energetic, guest-focused Recreation Attendant to support daily recreation operations across the property. This role focuses on delivering engaging guest experiences, maintaining recreation areas, and assisting with activities while ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment. You will work closely with the Recreation Lead and broader team to ensure all recreation offerings—from lake activities to fitness and lawn games—are well-prepared, smoothly executed, and aligned with Chetola’s service standards.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in hospitality, recreation, or guest services preferred
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Ability to lift and move equipment and remain active throughout shifts
  • Flexible availability, including weekends, holidays, and peak seasons
  • Willingness to follow direction and support team priorities
  • Commitment to safety, professionalism, and high service standards

Responsibilities

  • Assist with recreational activities including lake activities (kayaks, paddleboards, paddleboats), lawn games, and seasonal programming
  • Greet guests warmly and provide friendly, helpful guidance on available activities and amenities
  • Provide basic instruction and support for guests participating in activities
  • Anticipate guest needs and offer assistance to enhance their experience
  • Support the Recreation team in setting up and executing daily activities and programming
  • Assist with preparing spaces and equipment for scheduled activities, classes, and events
  • Help ensure instructors and activities are set up for success and ready for guests
  • Communicate guest needs, feedback, or operational issues to leadership
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of recreation areas including pool surroundings, fitness center, and outdoor spaces
  • Assist in keeping all areas fully stocked, guest-ready, and visually appealing
  • Help monitor equipment condition and report maintenance or repair needs
  • Support daily opening and closing procedures for recreation areas
  • Assist guests with lake activities including distributing equipment and providing basic safety guidance
  • Ensure life preservers and safety equipment are available and properly used
  • Support waiver collection and ensure guests are properly checked in before participating
  • Maintain awareness of surroundings and escalate safety concerns to the Recreation team
  • Ensure recreation areas are clean, organized, and guest-ready throughout the day
  • Set up and reset equipment consistently and with care
  • Maintain proper presentation of all equipment and activity areas
  • Support smooth guest flow by assisting with transitions and setup between activities
  • Stay attentive to guest needs and overall environment at all times
  • Communicate proactively with the team to ensure nothing is missed
