About The Position
Join Our Team at the City of Jersey Village – Now Hiring a Part-Time Recreation Assistant! Are you an outgoing, energetic, and enthusiastic individual looking to make a difference in your community? The City of Jersey Village is currently seeking a Part-Time Recreation Assistant to support our Parks & Recreation Department! As a Recreation Assistant, you'll help create fun, safe, and engaging recreational programs and activities for the community-think sports, camps, arts and crafts, special events, and more! You'll work both independently and as part of a collaborative team to ensure everything runs smoothly, from setup to clean-up.
Requirements
- Willingness to complete First Aid and CPR certification (Red Cross) within 3 months of hire
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- A passion for community recreation and service
Responsibilities
- Support the Recreation & Events Supervisor in executing community programs and events
- Help with program registration, facility openings/closings, and supervision of participants
- Set up and take down equipment and ensure facility safety
- Interact positively with patrons, assist with public relations, and report any safety or property issues
- Maintain a clean and welcoming environment for all users
- Assist with incident reporting and other administrative tasks as needed
