At Indiana Treatment Center—operated in partnership with Ascension Recovery Services—we provide evidence-based, compassionate care for individuals seeking recovery from substance use disorders. We are looking for a Recovery Support Team Lead who brings professionalism, structure, and heart to the residential environment. General Description The Behavioral Health Tech Team Lead provides direct client support while ensuring daily shift operations run smoothly. This role coordinates assignments, monitors adherence to program expectations, assists with incident response, and serves as the first point of support for Recovery Support Specialists. The Team Lead also assists with onboarding, training, and reinforcing trauma-informed care, boundaries, and safety practices. This position acts as a bridge between frontline staff and supervisors, promoting a therapeutic and recovery-oriented environment. Shift Expectations The Recovery Support Team Lead must be available to support all facility shifts to ensure coverage and operational consistency. While flexibility is required, the primary scheduled shifts will include: 1st Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM 2nd Shift: 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM Team Leads may also be scheduled for occasional split shifts to support training, handoffs, or leadership presence across shifts. Weekends will be required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior experience as a Recovery Support Specialist or similar behavioral health direct care role.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to coordinate teams and client needs.
  • Proven ability to manage crises, maintain boundaries, and model recovery-oriented behavior.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to provide client transportation.

Nice To Haves

  • Some college coursework in behavioral health, psychology, social services, or related field.
  • Peer Recovery Support Specialist (PRSS) certification.
  • Certified Medication Aide (CMA) credential, or willingness to obtain if required.
  • Experience onboarding, training, or mentoring staff.

Responsibilities

  • Lead shift huddles, assign responsibilities, and ensure adequate staffing coverage.
  • Coordinate transportation schedules for appointments, activities, and transitions.
  • Provide onboarding and training for new staff; reinforce shift routines, documentation expectations, and client engagement standards.
  • Model and coach professional boundaries, de-escalation, and trauma-informed practices.
  • Serve as first point of contact during incidents; support escalation, documentation, and communication.
  • Monitor adherence to schedules, unit routines, and program expectations.
  • Support AMA prevention efforts (“swat team”) to increase retention and engagement.
  • Provide Certified Medication Aide (CMA) support if credentialed.
  • Identify and communicate staffing needs, operational issues, and client concerns to the Supervisor.
  • Uphold professionalism, teamwork, and patient-centered care at all times.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
