About The Position

The Recovery Support Specialist provides guidance, support, and encouragement to individuals on their journey to recovery in a residential setting, as part of a substance use disorder treatment team. This role involves developing respectful, professional relationships with clients, ensuring their safety, overseeing medication calls and other residential activities, coordinating medical appointments, and providing transportation when necessary. Requirements

High school graduate/GED or equivalent
Valid, unrestricted driver’s license
Must obtain WA Agency Affiliated Counselor Registration within 90 days of hire

Nice To Haves

Minimum of 1-2 years of previous/related experience
Strong customer service skills
Ability to work with a low-income, multi-ethnic patient population and a demonstrated ability to relate respectfully and effectively to people of diverse racial, educational and socio-economic backgrounds
Must be a confident, self-directed individual who can work within a team as well as independently
Strong communication, organization, documentation and record keeping skills necessary

Responsibilities

Develop respectful, professional relationships with clients that assist them in being successful in their journey to recovery in the residential setting
Provide for the safety of clients
Oversee medication calls, and other activities in the residential setting
Coordinate client medical and other appointments
Provide transportation for clients (if needed)
