The Association for Individual Development (AID) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to empower people with physical, developmental, intellectual, mental health challenges; those who have suffered a trauma; and those at risk, to enjoy lives of dignity and purpose. We are looking for a Recovery Support Specialist for our Living Room Program who demonstrates this mission and wants to work for an organization that makes a difference in the community. Schedule: Overnights 6p-6a, 3rd shift, Rotating Weekends, Holidays, Evenings. What will you be doing? The Living Room Recovery Support Specialist is an individual with lived mental health service experience. The RSS is the first point of contact, greeting and welcoming all who enter the Living Room. The RSS conducts assessments and develops crisis stabilization plans in collaboration with the client, and client’s identified supports. The RSS will provide education and linkage to community recovery support systems, develop and facilitate positive relationships between consumers and team members, provide aid & support, increase participant motivation for services, assist with utilizing appropriate coping mechanisms, and reduce barriers to services by educating consumers about services, natural community supports and transportation. The RSS will participate in AID’s internal RSS committee and will complete continuing education yearly to maintain their CRSS certificate.
