Requirements

  • State-specific RN Licensure required
  • 2+ years of experience in a mental health or substance use disorder program, with a preference for experience in acute or residential psychiatric care, preferred
  • Must have or be able to obtain First Aid and CPR certification within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Administer medications, provide treatments, and render compassionate care to adult inpatient addiction treatment patients daily.
  • Communicate effectively with physicians, nurse practitioners, lab personnel, and other medical professionals to coordinate patient care and update treatment plans.
  • Assess, orient, and coordinate the plan of care for new patients, obtaining medical orders and ensuring a smooth admission process.
  • Participate as a key medical team member, facilitating a therapeutic environment on the unit.
  • Generate and review monthly medication administration records (MARs) and reconcile them with records provided by authorized pharmacists.
  • Work with the treatment team to develop and implement discharge plans from the day of admission.
  • Act as a liaison for hospitalized patients and their families, connecting them with community agencies, hospital consultants, and other vital services.
  • Record and chart daily patient contacts as required, ensuring accuracy and compliance with policies.
  • Support additional duties and special projects as needed, contributing to the ongoing success of the program.
