Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree from an accredited institution; one (1) year of related clerical work experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
  • Knowledge of office practices and equipment.
  • Skill in typing, word processing, data entry, and auditing.
  • Skill in organizing, prioritizing, and time management.
  • Skill in delivering excellent customer service.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Skill in working with Microsoft Office and Windows-based applications.
  • Ability to be accurate and pay attention to details.
  • Ability to multi-task, work independently, and be flexible.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of a Student Information System.
  • Knowledge of Florida residency law and FERPA law.
  • Knowledge of student admissions, records, and optical imaging systems.

Responsibilities

  • Process documents and maintain records for students.
  • Assist students with the admissions process, including applications, residency documentation, waiver requests, and transcript/records requests.
  • Enter, image, upload, and index forms, documents, and other records into the student information system.
  • Convert paper and microfiche records into an electronic format and index them to student records.
  • Process incoming and outgoing transcripts, military transcript requests, enrollment verifications, athletic eligibility submissions, and state/federal court subpoenas.
  • Assist faculty with attendance confirmations and grade entry.
  • Work a variety of reports to maintain accurate student records.
  • Research archived student records.
  • Promote and maintain compliance with FERPA.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external customers, handling walk-ins, telephone, and email inquiries.
  • Refer students to appropriate institutional and community resources as needed.
  • Provide support to students in the planning and achievement of educational and career goals.
  • Promote student awareness of educational resources.
  • Complete all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
