About The Position

Our client, a respected Paul Davis Restoration franchise in the San Fernando Valley, is a leader in property restoration and reconstruction following fire, water, mold, and other insurance-covered losses. With a reputation for integrity, high-quality workmanship, and exceptional service, the team is dedicated to helping homeowners and property managers navigate some of their most challenging moments. As their operation grows, they are seeking an experienced Reconstruction Project Director with deep local restoration expertise to help drive operational excellence and customer satisfaction. The Reconstruction Project Director plays a key role in overseeing residential and commercial reconstruction projects from start to finish. This role requires a restoration-experienced professional who can take initiative, act independently, communicate proactively, and manage 10–15 active projects—representing roughly $1.5M+ in business. The ideal candidate understands insurance claims processes, works well in the field, builds strong relationships with subcontractors, and thrives in a fast-moving environment where urgency, organization, and follow-through matter.

Requirements

  • Restoration experience (required) — candidates without restoration will not be considered.
  • Strong local market experience in the San Fernando Valley or surrounding areas (required).
  • Existing network of local subcontractors across multiple trades (required).
  • Reconstruction or construction project management experience.
  • Experience with mitigation and reconstruction processes.
  • Strong understanding of insurance claims, estimating, documentation, budgets, and job costing.
  • Ability to independently manage $2M+ in annual project volume.
  • Working knowledge of construction methods, trades, sequencing, and jobsite safety.
  • Proficiency with Xactimate or willingness/ability to learn quickly.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and prioritization skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel throughout Southern California.
  • Ability to work evenings/weekends as needed for emergencies or urgent project needs.
  • Fluent in English; Spanish proficiency strongly preferred.
  • Ability to meet physical requirements, including navigating job sites and working in variable indoor/outdoor environments.

Nice To Haves

  • IICRC certifications (WRT, ASD, FSRT) or equivalent.
  • Experience managing large-loss residential or commercial projects.
  • Familiarity with Symbility, PSA, Encircle, DocuSketch, or similar platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple reconstruction projects simultaneously (10–15 active jobs) while meeting operational goals for sales, gross margin, and customer experience.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for homeowners, adjusters, subcontractors, and property managers.
  • Understand insurance claims workflows and ensure proper communication, documentation, and financial controls.
  • Develop, monitor, and adjust project budgets and schedules.
  • Select, coordinate, and manage subcontractors; maintain strong local vendor relationships.
  • Spend significant time in the field overseeing progress, inspecting job sites, and maintaining quality control.
  • Resolve project issues proactively with a bias for action and a solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Maintain Paul Davis standards for professionalism, safety, and compliance.
  • Use technology and modern communication tools to keep all stakeholders informed.
  • Deliver a high-level customer experience with empathy, reliability, and urgency.
