About The Position

The Receptionist answers telephone calls from multi-line phone system or switchboard. This job screens calls, takes messages and directs callers to the appropriate individual if needed. This job greets and directs visitors/patients to the appropriate department/staff. This job's other duties may include answering questions/inquires from the public or patients, sorting mail and/or performing other general office functions. This job may also use a paging system.

Requirements

  • Minimum of one (1) year of previous clerical/secretarial work experience in an office setting
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Strong recall

  • Speak clearly
  • Write legibly
  • Reading
  • Able to handle multiple priorities
  • Frequent and intense customer interactions
  • Able to adapt to frequent change

Nice To Haves

  • Two (2) years of previous clerical/secretarial work experience in an office setting
  • Previous experience in a health care setting

Responsibilities

  • Answers multi-line/switchboard telephone calls promptly, takes detailed messages and transfers calls to appropriate parties.
  • Greets visitors courteously and notifies staff immediately upon arrival of their guest/customers.
