About The Position

The Archdiocese of St. Louis strives to teach and share our faith, serve others, and foster unity throughout the St. Louis area. Once a part of Kenrick-Glennon Seminary's campus, the Cardinal Rigali Center in Shrewsbury, MO is today the headquarters and curia (governing body) for the Archdiocese of St. Louis. Job SummaryThe Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for the parish, providing a warm, welcoming, and professional presence for parishioners, visitors, and staff. This role supports the daily operations of the parish office through effective communication, administrative assistance, and a spirit of hospitality, while upholding the mission and values of the Catholic Church.

Requirements

  • Practicing Catholic in good standing preferred.
  • High school diploma required; associate degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Previous receptionist, administrative, or customer service experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, or similar software.
  • Strong organizational, multitasking, and time-management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Professional demeanor with strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a faith-centered environment.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Greet parishioners, visitors, and guests in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Answer and route incoming phone calls, emails, and inquiries promptly and accurately.
  • Provide general information regarding parish services, schedules, and events.
  • Maintain a welcoming and organized reception area.
  • Assist with general clerical tasks, including data entry, filing, copying, and scanning.
  • Support parish staff with correspondence, bulletins, newsletters, and routine communications.
  • Maintain parish calendars, appointments, and facility reservations as assigned.
  • Process incoming and outgoing mail and deliveries.
  • Assist with maintaining accurate parish records and databases.
  • Handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Prepare basic forms, letters, and documentation as requested, following parish guidelines.
  • Order office supplies and assist with maintaining office equipment.
  • Support smooth daily office operations through organization and attention to detail.
  • Assist with additional administrative or office projects as assigned.
