About The Position

Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) provides outreach and case management services to Veterans and Veteran families who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. As a Receptionist at SSVF, you’ll be the first person that our clients encounter when visiting or calling our program, and it’s critical that you are helpful, warm, and inviting to clients who are experiencing the crisis of current or imminent homelessness. You’ll be responsible for monitoring the flow of people entering the office and managing a heavy call volume, providing relevant program information, and directing callers and visitors as appropriate.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Demonstrated ability in receptionist duties.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Computer literacy, particularly with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to communicate effectively (i.e., understand and be understood) in English.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining a neat, clean, and organized reception area.
  • Welcoming visitors, determining the nature of their visit, and announcing their arrival to appropriate team members.
  • Answering, screening, and forwarding incoming phone calls, and/or providing appropriate information to our callers.
  • Sorting and distributing incoming mail and maintain mail and other office supplies.
  • Maintaining client files and inputting limited data into the client database
