About The Position

Havenwyck Hospital is a Joint Commission-accredited and licensed psychiatric hospital, overlooking Lake Galloway in Auburn Hills, Michigan. We specialize in providing comprehensive, compassionate behavioral health services to children, adolescents and adults. It is the ultimate goal of our dedicated staff to build strength, confidence and knowledge within each patient, in hopes that they may continue learning and understanding their needs and practicing self-care for the rest of their lives. POSITION SUMMARY: The Outpatient Receptionist is responsible for clerical functions and acts as a receptionist for the program under the supervision of the program director.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma / GED required
  • Highly skilled in greeting visitors and customer service.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage phone and email inquiries.
  • Professional demeanor and appearance required.

Responsibilities

  • Acts as receptionist for program, answers telephone, takes messages and delivers them.
  • Manages registration and insurance intake for new patients. Processes, copies, and distributes all forms to the appropriate departments in a timely manner. Enters relevant information in computer system.
  • Assists with keeping reception and patient areas tidy and presentable.
  • Performs insurance verification online and by phone. Ability to document eligibility, co-pays, deductibles and pre-existing terms and communicate such information with patients. 1
  • Inventories and orders supplies for the unit.
  • Attends hospital mandatory trainings and in-services as required in a timely manner Attends unit staff meetings and takes detailed notes.
  • Performs other duties as assigned/required by this position.
  • Participates in the development, interpretation and implementation of the department’s philosophy, objectives, standards, policies and procedures.
  • Develops measurable goals on the Individualized Treatment Plan that are mutually set with the treatment team and patient.
  • Modifies nursing component of the Master Treatment Plan as required by changing patient needs, as determined by evaluation of care administered and established standards of care. Keeps treatment plan updated; reviews the plan with patients.
