About The Position

The Receptionist/Transportation Dispatch coordinates the safety and security aspects of patients enrolled in Outpatient (OP) services: Partial Hospitalization (PHP), Intensive Outpatient (IOP) or ECT. Serves as receptionist for OP visitors and patients. Registers PHP/IOP/ECT patients in the system. The Receptionist/Transportation Dispatch is responsible for coordinating the transportation services for inpatient and outpatient patients; assures vehicles are in proper working order and clean; provides high quality non-medical patient care and ambulatory transportation while providing exceptional customer service. The Receptionist/Transportation Dispatch is responsible for assuring that safety remains the highest priority throughout the transportation continuum.

Requirements

High School Diploma or Equivalent
Minimum of two (2) years experience in behavioral inpatient or outpatient setting.
Valid Driver's License, satisfactory driving record per UHS Policy INS 1.05 (Corporate Fleet Safety Policy)

Responsibilities

Greet and signs in all PHP/IOP patients, and any OP ECT patients arriving during their scheduled hours.
Greet and sign in vistors for hospital inpatients in the 4 bed building. Notifies unit staff upon arrival of vistors.
Keep reception area orderly and notifies housekeeping of any immediate issues.
Assists families waiting on patients
Monitors patirents and vistors as they pass through the metal detector.
Uses wanding device as appropriate.
Removes any controband from patients. Properly handles any contraband as described in Contraband policy.
Assisgns patients lockers to store personal belongings; collects and retrieves patient's belongings as needed.
