About The Position

CENTRALIZED TRANSPORTATION DISPATCH TECHNICIAN NIGHTS (6:00pm to 6:00am) (HOME OFFICE - AUSTIN OR WILLMAR, MN) To save time applying, Hormel Foods does not offer sponsorship of job applicants for employment-based visas for this position at this time. This position will report to Manager of Transportation Administration This role is the primary point of contact for the Transportation Operations – CO during non-business hours, 6:00PM to 6:00AM. Under limited supervision this role will be responsible for error resolution, proactively tracking freight, OS&D resolution, and processing late orders via the TMS. There is a $1.00 shift differential for this being night shift. Relocation is not eligible for this role. At Hormel Foods, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. The base hiring pay range for this role is between $18.75-$26.25 per hour, and your actual base pay within that range will depend upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skill set, level of experience, and geographic market location. Requirements

  • Demonstrates dependability due to transactional customer service required for this role.
  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills: ability to communicate with clarity and diplomacy with time sensitive/challenging issues.
  • Demonstrates proficiency with Microsoft suite of products.
  • Proven ability to initiate appropriate action independently.
  • Proven ability to multitask with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Knowledge of transportation processes to troubleshoot issues in a faced paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Blue Yonder Transportation Management System (TMS) experience, and or motor carrier dispatch experience.
  • Knowledge of warehouse shipping processes.
  • Experience with order processing systems.
  • Strong organization skills.

Responsibilities

  • Track loads to ensure OTD and ensure late truck communication is sent to the appropriate team members.
  • Work closely with the transportation team to ensure synergies are being recognized to reduce overall freight spend.
  • Responsible for OS&D resolution under minimal supervision.
  • Provide initial accident paperwork and communication.
  • Work cross functionally with warehouse operation, customer service and/or QC to resolve issues.
  • Vacation will be limited during the week of Thanksgiving, Christmas, week after Christmas, and the last week of the fiscal year.
