About The Position

DESCRIPTION: St. Mary’s Catholic Center seeks a highly motivated individual who enjoys working with people, is mission-driven, and possesses the skills necessary to support the ministry through the care of its facilities. The Receptionist Student Worker reports directly to the Operations Coordinator. ORGANIZATION OVERVIEW: St. Mary’s Catholic Center at Texas A&M University has the mission to form apostles for the Church and the world. We are a ministry of the New Evangelization who believe in exercising a dynamic orthodoxy, faithful to the Church’s instruction, engaging and fervent, in a manner that reaches the hearts of the faithful and the unchurched. The Receptionist Student Worker is a member of the operations team at St. Mary’s Catholic Center.

Any candidate must be able to support the mission of St. Mary’s Catholic Center and its role as a Catholic institution.
Current Student Enrolled at either: Texas A&M RELLIS Blinn College
Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher, and Google Docs and Sheets
Must maintain compliance with the Diocese of Austin Ethics and Integrity in Ministry (EIM) policies through the employment period.

Responsibilities

Greeting people entering the student center.
Answering the telephone, screening and directing calls.
Taking and relaying messages.
Providing information to callers.
Scheduling Mass intentions.
Providing general administrative and clerical support.
Controlling inventory relevant to the front desk area.
Maintaining the lobby and front desk area.
Supporting and upholding the philosophy of Catholic ministry and the mission of St. Mary’s Catholic Center in both professional and personal life.
Acting as a witness to Gospel values by modeling the teachings of the Catholic Church.
Continuously growing in ministry by participating in religious ceremonies, training sessions, and reflection activities.
