The Medical Clinic Receptionist is responsible for greeting and acknowledging patients, managing phone calls, and handling patient check-in and registration within the electronic medical record system. This role involves verifying demographic and insurance information, collecting co-pays, and preparing deposits. The receptionist schedules and reschedules appointments, maintains physician schedules, processes cancellations, and distributes mail. Additional duties include patient check-out, coordinating follow-up appointments and referrals, preparing associated forms, and maintaining patient records by scanning documents into the EMR. The position also requires referring billing inquiries, providing medical records information under established guidelines, and maintaining patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations. The receptionist must ensure accurate administrative records, communicate effectively with staff and patients, maintain harmonious relations, adapt to changes, attend meetings, and be able to float to other MACC practices as needed.
