About The Position

Overview GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB: Responsible for receptionist duties as assigned by the Commanding Officers and work closely with the Social Services Responsibilities ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Greet the public (clients, donors, board members, etc.) in a pleasant and helpful manner Maintain cleanliness and operations of the front office Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing Answer telephone: take messages Sort and distribute donated bread, sweets, chips, and other food items to clients and keep records as appropriate Document client files in the computer for needed assistance Assist caseworker with client intake Enter statistics onto Excel and Word documents as needed Enter client data using Pantry Track Distribute mail/packages When necessary, prepare food items for food pantry (pack food boxes/meat). (Will include heavy lifting of at least 50 lbs.) Calculate volunteer hours Assist other departments if needed working as a team Assist with all holiday programs Record in-kind donations received through front office Train volunteers/WEP workers/Goodwill workers Maintain appearance of the lobby Assist Case worker with social service duties Other miscellaneous duties as required SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Assists with oversight of volunteers Qualifications MINIMUM EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Minimum High School Diploma SPECIAL SKILLS, CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel Background check is required through the Bureau of Criminal Identification & Investigation (BCII) Must have a valid driver's license Salvation Army Mission Statement The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian church. Requirements

  • Minimum High School Diploma
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Background check is required through the Bureau of Criminal Identification & Investigation (BCII)
