Hilgartner and other civic-minded citizens of Austin to provide a setting where blind men and women could come to learn skills and create products that were sold door to door. Responsibilities · Supervise the warehouse specialists to ensure that warehousing tasks are being performed properly. · Performs a variety of warehousing duties which require an understanding of TAB's storage plan. · Verifies materials and/or merchandise against receiving documents, noting and reporting discrepancies and obvious damages. · Counts incoming stock for verification and after classification of the product. · Routes materials to prescribed storage locations; storing, stacking, or palletizing materials in accordance with prescribed storage methods. · Rearranges and takes inventory of stored materials. · Examines stored materials and reports deterioration and damage. · Removes material from storage racks and prepares it for shipment. · May operate hand or power trucks in performing warehousing duties. · Verifies that orders are accurately filled by comparing items and quantities of goods gathered for shipment against documents; ensuring that shipments are properly packaged, identified with shipping information, and loaded into transporting vehicles, and prepares and keeps records of goods shipped, e.g., manifests. · Verifies the correctness of incoming shipments by comparing items and quantities unloaded against bills of lading, invoices, manifests, storage receipts, or other records; checking for damaged goods; ensuring that goods are appropriately identified for routing to departments within the establishment; prepares and keeps records of goods received. Communicates key company and department policies, announcements, and general information to employees using a variety of methods, to include: 1-1's, Huddles, Staff Meetings, Paycom.
