We offer a competitive starting wage of $24.97 along with shift differentials and regular pay increases. Available Schedules 3rd Shift: Monday-Friday, 12:00am (midnight) - 8:00am Weekend hours may be possible on a required or voluntary basis Areas of Accountability All areas of accountability to be delivered with GRIT - our values of Generosity, Relationships, Integrity, and Teamwork Unload Raw Materials Department Cleanliness Essential Duties and Responsibilities Remove product in a variety of ways from open top, rendispose, reefer, box, tank, and other types of trailers Operate skid-steers or forklifts to remove large materials from trailers, as needed Use a pressure washer and brush to clean out trailers, skid steers, and other equipment Inspect trailers for usability and notify Vehicle Maintenance Technicians if repairs are needed Complete paperwork for each unloaded trailer Effectively communicate trailer load information with production personnel to prevent errors and inefficiencies Report any concerns, accidents, downtime, or cost-saving measures to Foreman, as needed Follow all company safety policies, practices, procedures, and improvement initiatives Comply with all regulatory compliance requirements including environmental and food/feed safety Perform general housekeeping to maintain a clean work environment, as needed Maintain regular and predictable on-site attendance Situations may arise that require employees to temporarily or permanently assume responsibility for tasks not specifically outlined in this job description. Employees may be requested to work additional hours and/or accommodate a heavier than normal workload.

Requirements

  • Pass in-house Forklift Certification, upon hire
  • Proficient in basic math skills and reading data trends; accurately and legibly record information
  • Effectively communicate with external truck drivers, both in writing and verbally
  • Accurately read and understand signs, labels, warnings, directions, and operator manuals
  • Ability to maintain composed and organized in a fast-paced environment
  • Work in a facility that processes multiple species including cows, pigs, and poultry
  • Willingness and ability to work extra hours as needed during the week or weekend
  • Must be 18 years of age or older for insurance purposes
  • Consistently push and/or pull heavy objects
  • Frequently lift up to 50 pounds from floor to waist level; occasionally lift up to 75 pounds
  • Consistently bend at the waist and/or knees
  • Consistently climb trailers or ladders up to 15 feet or be elevated in scissors lifts up to 40 feet
  • Stand up to 100% of the workday
  • Ability to work in confined spaces
  • Ability to work safely in all weather conditions including extreme heat and cold

  • Experience in food/feed production, a plus
