We are seeking a detail-oriented and process-driven Receiving Manager to oversee all incoming shipments and ensure accurate, efficient receipt into inventory at our Mansfield warehouse. This role focuses on verifying the correct quantity, quality, and condition of all received items (chemicals, parts, Jan/San supplies, and related materials), enforcing proper labeling and documentation standards, and maintaining high inventory integrity from the point of receipt onward. The Receiving Manager will supervise receiving staff, implement best practices for inspections and processes, and collaborate closely with inventory, purchasing, and operations teams.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree in supply chain, logistics, or related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in receiving, warehouse operations, or inventory control, ideally in distribution, manufacturing, or industrial supply environments (experience with chemicals, parts, or hazmat materials is highly desirable).
  • Proven supervisory or leadership experience managing receiving/warehouse staff.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in verifying quantity, quality, and documentation.
  • Familiarity with ERP/inventory systems for receipt processing; familiarity or experience with RF Smart and NetSuite is a plus.
  • Knowledge of safe handling and labeling requirements for hazardous materials (OSHA Hazard Communication, SDS management).
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures.

Nice To Haves

  • Forklift certification or ability to obtain one preferred.
  • Certifications in hazmat handling, forklift operation, or supply chain basics are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily receiving operations, including unloading, inspecting, and processing all incoming shipments of chemicals, replacement parts, janitorial/sanitation supplies, site maintenance products, and other materials.
  • Verify quantity against purchase orders, packing slips, and bills of lading; count items accurately and resolve discrepancies immediately with purchasing team.
  • Inspect for quality and condition upon receipt—check for damage, defects, proper packaging, expiration dates (for chemicals/perishables), and compliance with specifications; reject non-conforming items and document issues.
  • Ensure proper labeling and identification of all stock at receipt, including applying barcodes, lot numbers, hazmat labels, SDS references, and storage location tags to support accurate inventory tracking and safety.
  • Supervise and train receiving staff (clerks and team members), including scheduling, performance monitoring, coaching, and ensuring adherence to receiving procedures and safety protocols.
  • Process receipts into the ERP/inventory system (including NetSuite) promptly and accurately; record all relevant data (e.g., receipts, variances, rejections) to maintain real-time inventory accuracy.
  • Coordinate with the Inventory Manager and purchasing team on receiving discrepancies, returns to vendors, and corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area; enforce proper handling of hazardous materials (e.g., car wash chemicals) in compliance with OSHA, EPA, and company standards.
  • Conduct regular audits of receiving processes, documentation, and stock labeling to identify improvement opportunities and ensure >98% accuracy in receipts.
  • Support cross-functional efforts, such as urgent parts for service technicians or new product introductions, by prioritizing and expediting critical receipts.
  • Monitor and report on key receiving metrics (e.g., on-time processing, discrepancy rates, rejection rates)
  • Assist with cycle counts or physical inventories as needed, particularly for recently received items.
  • Ensure all receiving activities comply with company policies, regulatory requirements (e.g., hazmat handling), and best practices for distribution and manufacturing support.
